Writer-Centered
Book Coaching for Ambitious and Creative BIPOC
Get the guidance you need to finally write the book you can’t stop thinking about.
Don’t you think it’s time?
You have the idea and the drive—now you just need someone to show you the way.
Sure, you could write a book on your own. You’re capable and creative, and you’ve rarely (if ever) met a problem you can’t solve. You’re the type of person who keeps working at something until you get it right, so you know writing your book is only a matter of time.
But that’s just it. With everything else going on in your life—your career or business, your family, your slight existential dread at the state of the world—who has time to figure out how to write a whole ass book on their own? Researching the writing process on top of planning the actual book content feels like a lot.
But that doesn’t make you want to write a book any less. You say to yourself, “It’ll happen … eventually.” And that’s followed quickly by, “But how the eff do I do this?!”
Well, I know exactly what you need…

Clarity would be dope. And maybe even specific steps to follow with a sprinkle of accountability?
Book Coaching (with me, duh) has got you covered!
Planning and writing your book doesn’t have to be overwhelming or confusing. It doesn’t have to take a whole year just to get the outline and structure, and another three to actually write the book. But it’s not all gonna happen in 90 days, either (and anyone who says it definitely will can fight me 😤).
As your book coach, I can help you:
make concrete progress on your book plan, book proposal, and manuscript;
craft your query letter, synopsis, and pitch plan;
find your writing rhythm (aka create a sustainable writing practice);
handle the mindset stuff that comes up in the process;
stay motivated until “The End” (even if your book isn’t the kind of book that actually ends in “The End”);
add “Author” to your bio (yay!); and
get there faster than if you did it alone.
You deserve a book coach who gives you what you need when you need it.

“Okay, but what are we actually doing, like, what’s the process?”
I’m so glad you asked, because I love any excuse to talk about my Clear, Confident Writer Framework!
My framework is designed to help you get SUPER clear (shocking, I know) on why you’re writing this book, who it’s for, and how you’re going to make it real.
And the confidence? Well that comes from YOU—putting in the work, showing up for yourself, and executing the plan.
THE CLEAR CONFIDENT WRITER FRAMEWORK
-
We’ll nail your book’s foundation—from the broader point you’re making (and how to talk about it), to the full picture of your ideal reader, including what they need and how your book will help them get it.
You’ll also learn about your publishing options and decide how you want to bring your book idea to life! -
It’s all about the content baby! What are you saying? How is it organized? How is it aiding your ideal reader’s transformation?
And after answering all that, you’ll craft a detailed outline of everything your book needs (and nothing it doesn’t), and a super simple marketing plan. Cuz a book needs readers, right? -
All of the hard work from Clarify + Plan leaves you in the best position to get writing!
You’ll create your book proposal and/or start drafting your manuscript—it all depends on your publishing goals.
Either way, I’ll be right alongside you to keep you on track and motivated until you finish. Your future readers are waiting!
Writing a book takes time, and that could look like…
-
Months 1-2
Complete and refine all the Clarify and Plan exercises to create a super solid plan for your book—from your point to your outline.
-
Months 2-6
Write your book proposal (nonfiction) or the first draft of your manuscript (fiction).
-
Month 7+
Craft your query letter, synopsis, and pitch plan—then get pitching! OR work on self-publishing OR just keep writing!
The actual timeline might be (will probably be) different for you, because writing a book is NOT a one-size-fits-all thing. But what I know for sure is that with the right energy, mindset, and guidance, you can gain momentum on your book in just a few months.
I don’t like to brag, so I let my clients do it for me. 🧡

“During moments of uncertainty in this therapeutic writing process, Sabrina unfailingly rekindles my sense of purpose.
Collaborating with Sabrina has been a beautiful journey of self-discovery throughout my writing process. Sabrina's expertise in her field is evident, as she consistently encourages me to delve deeper, embrace my narrative, and articulate it on paper in a manner I hadn't previously explored.
I wholeheartedly endorse Sabrina as a book coach for fellow writers (experienced or not)."
Dionna Tillery
“Because of my coaching experience with Sabrina, I was able to commit to a writing routine, see my book idea come to life in the form of a full book proposal, and boost my confidence to actually pursue publishing.
My coaching experience with Sabrina has been nothing short of amazing! First and foremost, I felt seen. I didn’t have to filter my lived experiences as a Black woman.
Sabrina’s coaching style offers both empowerment and accountability. She asks all the right questions to get you to think deeper and express more in your writing. She meets you where you are; as a novice writer, yet ‘expert’ in my field she offered feedback that didn’t make me run and hide of embarrassment but gave me the drive to push myself outside of my comfort zone.”
Franck Desplechin
“Sabrina made the process [of writing my book] not only manageable but genuinely enjoyable. From day one, she brought structure, focus, and an uncanny ability to cut through the noise in my head (trust me, there was a lot of noise).
Writing a book is no small feat, it is like trying to cook a five-course meal without a recipe while people peek over your shoulder and comment on your knife skills. Sabrina did not just guide me through the steps; she made me feel like I could actually do this and do it well, she never doubted a minute. She has this incredible knack for seeing the big picture (even though not from the hospitality industry) while also helping refine the smallest details.
Anytime I overthought something (which was weekly), she knew exactly how to steer me back on track, usually with a mix of patience and a well-timed nudge or coming along for the ride with my crazy idea. She just knew how to navigate the path forward.
This book proposal and manuscript would not exist without her guidance, insight, and endless encouragement. She is not just a coach; she is a champion for anyone crazy enough to take on this process.”
You know book coaching with me is for you if…
You’re not sure your book idea is good (but you hate asking for help).
You think you’re too busy to write a book (but you really want to).
You often think “I’m not a writer!”(but you dream of being one).
You sometimes find it hard to honor your feelings and express yourself (and you’re looking for a safe space to do that).
With my support, you can validate your book idea, find a writing rhythm that works with your schedule, and tap in to the creative writer inside you so you can finally tell anyone who will listen that you wrote a book!

So, does book coaching sound like exactly what you need to get your book out of your head and onto the page?

While I primarily work with Brown, Black, and writers of color, I am totally open to working with allies, too!
What does an ally look like? You are actively anti-racist, you agree that white privilege exists, you understand that racism is systemic, you agree that Black Lives Matter, and you vehemently agree when I say "Publishing is white AF" (just to name a few things).
